Multiple touring car World Champion team Lynk & Co Cyan Racing will enter the prestigious new TCR World Tour championship with four cars for 2023, racing the successful Lynk & Co 03 TCR model.
“We are delighted to continue our successful and long-term cooperation with Lynk & Co and Geely Group Motorsport in World Touring Cars with the new and exciting TCR World Tour from 2023 and beyond,” said Fredrik Wahlén, Team Manager of Cyan Racing.
“This is the highest level of touring car racing and with new sporting regulations, as well as new tyres compared to the WTCR, we have no doubt that the competition will be extremely tough.”
The TCR World Tour evolved out of the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) as the pinnacle of international touring car racing from 2023.
Cyan Racing is the most successful World Touring Car team ever, having claimed a total of seven World Titles, most recently the 2021 drivers’ and teams’ titles with Lynk & Co.
“We fully support Cyan Racing in the decision to enter the TCR World Tour, opening a new chapter of a hugely successful journey between the team and Lynk & Co which began in 2018,” said Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin, Head of Geely Group Motorsport.
“The decision of Lynk & Co Cyan Racing to enter the TCR World Tour further underlines our commitment to touring car racing as an unparalleled product marketing platform.”
The 2023 TCR World Tour will race on prestigious circuits in Asia, Europe, Oceania, and the Americas, starting the season on April 28-30 at Portimaõ in Portugal. The full calendar of nine race weekends will be confirmed within the coming months by promoters WSC Group Ltd.
Further news regarding the Lynk & Co Cyan Racing drivers for the TCR World Tour will be communicated in due course.
