Lynk & Co Cyan Racing netted two wins and a total of four podium finishes in a frantic FIA TCR World Tour weekend at Mid-Ohio in the USA.

The first race saw Thed Björk making a strong start from third on the grid to snatch second place into the first corner from points leader Norbert Michelisz.

The Lynk & Co 03 TCR driver then closed in on leading Hyundai driver Mikel Azcona and made the move for the lead with just a couple of laps left, clinching his first win of 2024.

"It feels so good to win in the US! Both races were super exciting and the team gave me an amazing car. But the second race was actually one of the best touring car races of my life. It was fighting all through the race and we managed to secure a 1-2-3, I'm super happy," said Thed Björk.

Yann Ehrlacher made a repeat move in the second race, which proved to be the most exciting races in many years, snatching second place from third on the grid as the lights went out.

Solid team work between the Lynk & Co Cyan Racing drivers saw Yann Ehrlacher claiming the lead towards the end of the race with Ma Qing Hua and Thed Björk close behind, after several corners of side-by-side action with the competitors.

"We got very good points this weekend and the team gave me a great car for both races, super nice feeling to become the first driver with two wins this year. A big thanks to the team and to Thed who helped me a lot. Let's keep pushing for the final half of the season," said Yann Ehrlacher.

Ma Qing Hua and Thed Björk secured a strong 1-2-3 for the team, gaining valuable points to the championship fight.

"What a great result for the team! I was fighting a lot for the positions and we made a really good job together to achieve this result. A big thanks to the team for all their hard work, I'm super happy," said Ma Qing Hua.

Santiago Urrutia was right in the thick of the action in both races, securing two top ten finishes.

"I'm happy for the result of the team, but for me personally, it's not what I wanted. The second race started well, but then contact started from several drivers. It's racing, but I just feel sad because I could have finished on the podium or fought for the win. Let's focus on the next race in Brazil," said Santiago Urrutia.

Yann Ehrlacher has climbed to second place in the drivers' championship, 22 points from leading driver Norbert Michelisz, with Thed Björk in fifth place, 36 points adrift.

The team championship standings has got Lynk & Co Cyan Racing in second place, 20 points behind BRC Hyundai.

Next up for the FIA TCR World Tour field is the iconic Formula 1 circuit Interlagos on July 20-21.

UPDATE: Santiago Urrutia and Thed Björk were penalised after Race 2, dropping Urrutia outside of the points in both races while Björk dropped from third to sixth in the second race. Honda driver Marco Butti was also penalised for making contact with Urrutia in Race 2.
